Dear Reese,
I’m dictating this letter to you while you’re in the bath [later transcribed here]. You’re looking at me a little confused, then your eyes turned back to your unicorn bath toy and the Thomas the Tank Engine bath book — a book which is very confusing to me.
We had a slow, good day together. A morning at the farmers market and meeting up with Aunt Jenn and Taj. When we came back to Mariner Road, I gave them a house tour while you stayed with MorMor.
Your cold has lightly spread through the family. MorMor felt the worst of it today, but you sure were snotty. My energy’s been okay, better than yesterday. There’s been worse illnesses. I’m just thankful I didn’t get your fevers from last weekend.
We spend most of the day outdoors. It’s a beautiful day that I didn’t expect this late in the season. We visit just about every place around the cottage — hanging out in the driveway, playing with your, the stroller, the wagon. We watch Cappi start a new wooden cut-out spider for Halloween. He’s going to hang it on the front porch next to the lifesize skeleton we call Bones.
We go over to the barn
We go over to the barn and explore, and end up having a lot of fun with two brooms we find — pretending they were swords and battling each other (gently).
We have a showing at the condo tomorrow, so we’ve tried to stay away most of the weekend (there was one yesterday morning, too). That means it has to be very clean, and the two of us left in the condo too long means it doesn’t stay very clean. There’s only a little I have to do tonight after you go to sleep.
The cat is making a weird sound in the hallway, so dictation over for now.
Love,
Mama
