Dear Reese,
I stay up late playing D&D. It brings me joy. Earlier this week I spent an hour before bed building out a new wizard character and crafting his likeness on HeroForge. His name is Ellory and he has a streak of pink in his hair — a spellcrafting accident at university.
This evening, Lindsey, Da,n and family were over at the cottage. You are interested and a little unsure about all the extra people and kids around. Jack is determined to get you to sit in the Jeep wagon so he can push you around. You’d rather walk. But you do give him a high five when he asks.
We walk over to our house in progress. The framing for the outside walls are up. Cappi takes a picture of us walking in your future bedroom.
When we’re home alone together, I start to read to you in the bath, and you tell me ‘all done’ but then don’t want to get out. Turns out you just wanted to sit in silence for a little bit. And I did too. It was nice. Then you drain the tub yourself and tug on your towel so we are getting better at understanding each other every day.
Love,
Mama
