Dear Reese,
Today, when I pick you up, you’re hair is in two little pigtails on the top of your head. It is adorable. Your teacher is so kind to do your hair. It makes you look older — truly like a toddler instead of a baby.
Tonight, when we’re ready to go to bed (but you have been very energetic), you hop off the guest bed where I was trying to read to us, grab your milk, and go up to the closed bedroom door. You knock on it — knock, knock — like I’ve been teaching you when you want a door opened, so I get off the bed and follow you, curious about what you’re looking for. You don’t usually want to leave the room at this point in our routine.
You toddle to the kitchen and put your sippy cup up on the counter. It seems you just wanted to put it back before bed, which was very kind of you.
Mission complete, you go to sleep, no problem.
Love,
Mama
