Last Goodbyes

Dear Reese,

We say our last goodbyes to the condo. We clear out the remaining miscellaneous items that will be mystery bags and boxes to unpack in December. We wipe down counters and the fridge. We mop the floors. We leave the keys on the counter.

You are tolerant and mostly content through this cleaning and packing process in the morning. You help mop by sticking your arms in the hot water and flinging soap on the doors. With the fridge, you take a rag of your own and scrub.

It has been a wonderful home for over five years, but it also feels like it’s time. The new owners will have keys in hand by the morning and we’ll have the keys to our house in December.
