Dear Reese,
MorMor and Cappi lower your crib while we were away today (me — working on manager training materials, you — trying pancakes and Cheerios at daycare). It’s on the lowest setting now, close to the floor.
I google after it is done, ‘When should you lower crib mattresses?’. When you can sit on your own, lower it to the middle setting. When you show signs of pulling to stand, lower it all the way.
You’ve been sitting on your own for two months. Oops.
(It makes me wonder what else I should be googling that I’m not when it comes to doing the right thing for you?)
I worry that the change in height will bother you when I put you down tonight, but you either don’t notice or don’t care. Same sheets, same three binkies waiting for you, and you fall asleep a minute or two after I leave the room.
Love,
Mama
