Dear Reese,
In a whirlwind of a weekend . . . today we pack. Cappi takes all our pictures off the walls, and MorMor and your Aunt Jenn help me sort through my closet into piles — pack, store, donate.
You run around exploring and then take a very short afternoon nap. We tried to be quiet, but there’s a lot of movement happening as we get things into bins and boxes. You either heard us or those canine teeth coming in are giving you trouble. Probably a little of both.
We run out of steam after that and spend the rest of the day outside. We walk over to the cottage with your Aunt Jenn where you can bike, play in the sandbox, and go swinging.
It’s lovely to have Aunt Jenn with us today, not just because it was very helpful to have a second set of hands! It feels like a very family thing to do — hang out and be present for regular life. We chatted and caught up while we played with you and it refilled my friendship cup.
Tonight I read to you my favorite Winnie-the-Pooh story for the first time. We’ve been going through the collection while you’re in the bath, and this chapter finally came up: In Which a Search is Organized and Piglet Nearly Meets the Heffalump Again.
MorMor used to read it to me and it makes me laugh every time. I’m going to assume you like it too because you didn’t stop me from reading the whole chapter. It’s the first time I’ve been able to read a chapter straight through for you.
Love,
Mama
