Dear Reese,
You’re fever-free, if not a little fussy and extra cuddly. Since you haven’t been fever-free for 24 hours by this morning, you spend the day with MorMor and Cappi . . . and your cousin Kai! Though your competing nap schedules mean you don’t have a ton of overlapping playtime. You’ll have tomorrow and the weekend to hang out more.
It’s been a couple of months since I saw Kai, and I can’t believe how big he’s gotten. Truly entering his toddler era and looking so much like your Uncle Wes. He says words now. It’s mind-blowing. And he’s only four months older than you.
I spend some of my energy today worrying about getting sick again, but I think the energy drop I felt this morning was more from hunger than anything coming on (fingers freaking crossed). We do not have a good track record for staying healthy.
But I also spend some energy thinking about upcoming D&D games and turning too much stuff over in my head instead of writing it down. I did get to play in a D&D session yesterday for our new arc at work, and my character threw a handaxe at a new player to get their attention and then almost got into a fight with a hundred mind-controlled cultists, so that’s cathartic and fun.
This week, I built a (semi) satirical presentation for a work social event tomorrow on why my boss should add “Dungeon Master” to my official job description. I am having a good time with all of it.
I can’t wait to share this world of storytelling with you someday.
Love,
Mama
