Dear Reese,
Today, we attend your second Open Door Pride Fest in Sturgeon Bay. Last year, your first Pride, you were 12 days old. It was a wild decision, and I was mostly stressed out that you weren’t eating enough or were going to overheat and die.
This year is calmer. Although I’m a little worried you’re still not feeling well, your temperature had dropped lower this morning, and you were acting like yourself, so we took some Tylenol and got on with the day. I figured a distraction would be more fun than sitting inside all day.
You love people watching and making friends. Though you're shy about warming up to strangers who approach you, that same rule doesn’t apply to passersby on the sidewalk. You wave and smile and charm everyone you meet.
Your Mama A and big sister join us for a while. We hang out while your sister gets a rainbow cat painted on her face. Tiana is there too — our caseworker who shepherded us through the adoption process.
It’s an excellent vibe — filled with rainbows and music and love.

Love,
Mama
