Settling

Dear Reese,

We are all exhausted today. Post move, first night at the cottage. I didn’t sleep much with the restless cats, and you struggled for a while this morning before an unplanned nap. But MorMor and Cappi helped get the condo clean now that it is (mostly) empty. We’ll wrap up tomorrow for closing on Monday.

I also got an overdue haircut midday, so that part of my life can be manageable again. Twice a year I prioritize it, but it probably should be double that. It feels good to be a little lighter this afternoon — especially since that short morning nap means you completely bypass your normal afternoon nap. We all make it through.

It’s nice being here at the cottage with all of us — you, me, the cats. I spend a little time putting things away in my room before dinner and feel more settled this evening. You gather yourself around your four binkies (you found another one here) and fall right to sleep.
