Dear Reese,
We have another morning excursion with Cappi & MorMor: Bayside Coffee in Fish Creek; the playground and Farmer’s Market in Bailey’s Harbor; a walk at the Ridges.
We have six weeks until Cappi’s follow-up appointment for his eye, where hopefully they will schedule his second surgery soon after to put a new lens in, and fully return his vision! Until then, he has one good eye and time to kill. MorMor & Cappi are planning little adventures and outings. We will join them on the weekends. It’s not too different than what we’ve been doing already, at least Cappi has no physical restrictions anymore and can pick you up again.
You are not quite yourself after a second nap in the afternoon. I lay down with you at the cottage when you have trouble falling asleep, and you wake up the opposite of refreshed. I hold you and take you outside, and when Cappi brings you a small tupperware of ice cubes, things start to get a little better as you pick each one up to chew on.
Tonight, I start reading a new library book we checked out yesterday and halfway through, you pick up Llama Llama Red Pajama and insist I read that instead (you cry when I tell you we’ll read it next . . . you mean right now). You sit enraptured while I read the familiar words and help me turn the pages.
Love,
Mama
