Dear Reese,
Swim lessons, round two. This time with your Aunt Jenn in the Rocky Shores outdoor pool. I’ve lived here for five years, and it’s the first time I’ve been in it. It is almost too cold still, but the pool is heated, the sun is out, and we give it a try.
This goes much, much better than the indoor pool experiences. Your Aunt Jenn researched baby swim lessons, and you skip a step or two by reaching your arms out and wanting to start moving through the water. We try to show you how to blow bubbles, and you do try a couple of times, but get a few gulps of water instead. But you’re resilient, no tears the whole lesson.
You also make it clear when you’re done and climb out of the pool to play with the Tupperware we brought.
When Jenn does a few laps, you watch with attentive amazement. I wonder if we should have had you watch her swim first before doing the lesson, so you could understand what we’re working towards.
It’ll only get warmer now, so more pool swim lessons are in our future.
Love,
Mama
