Dear Reese,
Today’s waterpark adventure went better.
This morning you had playtime with Kai while Mama and your Aunt Amanda got a heavenly massage in the resort sp, but in the afternoon we headed back to Breaker Bay Waterpark for round two.
This time I held you close the whole time, let you keep a good suction on that binky, and walked you around the park. I ended up taking us into your first pool and you did great as a I gently bounced you in the water. There was even a smile behind that binky as I twirled you around.
After that, we went into the lazy river with Cappi as our tube-mate. You leaned back in my lap as your eyes got heavy and I had to strategically block you from random spouts and buckets dumping water in the river. We did two laps, got out, and you basically fell asleep on my shoulder on the way back to our table. It was probably tiring and overstimulating, but you were more curious than upset today so I’ll take it as a win.

You’ve been a champ, darling. A weekend away from home is a big deal for you. And despite being a little upset at bathtime tonight (first time in the big tub instead of the smaller baby tub, you promptly got water up your nose) and exhausted enough to go to bed a half-hour earlier this evening, you’ve had a great day. Playing with your cousin, seeing new parts of the resort, and even trying some new foods — naan at lunch, sweet potato fries at dinner + you devoured the avocado MorMor prepared for you.
When I laid you down on the pack ‘n play mattress tonight you were asleep within thirty seconds. We watched you on the monitor while I drank my dealcoholized red wine and played a round of cribbage with MorMor before bed.
All in all, you spent maybe two and a half hours total at the waterpark between yesterday and today. Most likely, that will change in the future. Watching all the parents run around the park after the little ones gave me a glimpse into who you could be in a year or two. For now, I treasure the time when you can still nap in my arms.
Love,
Mama
So so so much fun that Reese tolerated the water on day two while in mama’s arms! 🌊 Reese has a lifetime of water adventures ahead of her, so happy you all got to spend this time together!
